Planning on Buying Wholesale CBD? Here’s What You Need to Know

The CBD industry has grown tremendously, with its value exceeding $7 million worldwide this year. If things continue on this path, it is expected the market will reach $20 millions by 2024. Given these numbers, it is only natural that many entrepreneurs want to venture into the wonderful business of CBD.

If you are looking to enter the CBD industry and open your own CBD store, you will need to start searching for products and vendors. There are countless offers on the market, with products ranging from CBD oil to capsules, edibles, topicals, and CBD flowers. That’s why it can be quite a challenge to find a wholesaler that provides just the type of products you need.

Cultivation of industrial hemp has now become legal in the United States, which makes it much easier for manufacturers to make top-tier CBD. This means CBD wholesale prices are going to decrease, so it is the perfect time to start looking for vendors.

If you don’t have any idea what to look for, below are some tips to help you find a reputable CBD vendor and keep your clients satisfied.

Make sure you understand what CBD is

First and foremost, if you want to sell CBD, you need to understand what CBD is. Start reading books, news articles, and scientific reports, and always keep yourself up to date with what goes on in the industry.

Research on CBD is still ongoing, which means scientists discover new information about it every day. If you want your customers to trust you, you need to be prepared with answers to all their questions.

There is a lot of misinformation about CBD as well, so people have formed a lot of wrong opinions about it. Some believe it can get you as high as smoking weed does when, in fact, CBD products barely contain any THC, which is the cannabis compound that is responsible for getting you intoxicated. You need to be prepared to debunk these myths and tell your customers the truth about what CBD is and how it can help them.

Be prepared to answer dozens of questions and ensure you know each and every product that is in your store. Do make it a priority to train your staff as well, to ensure they know how to guide customers and help them find the products they need.

Check the type of products that the wholesaler offers

When buying CBD from a wholesaler, you need to know some specific information about it. Not all CBD is the same, so make sure you find high-quality products for your customers.

Don’t purchase CBD from a vendor if you don’t know the following information:

  • THC Content

Because cannabis is still a federally illegal drug, CBD products that contain more than 0.3% THC are prohibited in states where there are no medicinal marijuana laws in place. Make sure you are not breaking the law if you plan on selling CBD products with more than 0.3% THC.

  • Cultivation

The best CBD comes from hemp that was organically grown, so make sure you know some information about the process of cultivation. If the product mentions any pesticides or insecticides, look for another vendor right away.

  • Full-spectrum or broad-spectrum?

Full-spectrum CBD also contains other benefic cannabinoids and terpenes to boost the effectiveness of the CBD. These are usually non-intoxicating, but the product can also contain small traces of THC. Broad-spectrum is often preferred by customers that don’t want any THC in their product, so make sure to have this option as well.

Only purchase from reputable wholesalers

The CBD market is growing as we speak, which means there will also be some trying to profit from this growth by selling questionable products.

The number of CBD farms has expanded in the United States, which makes purchasing CBD products directly from a farm much more accessible. Due to the ever-increasing popularity of CBD products, many online stores are offering great variety of CBD. So today its not an issue to buy CBD oils, tinctures and cbd gummies online.

But no matter if you decide to purchase from a farm or from a middleman, you need to ensure your vendor is trustworthy. They should be able to offer high-quality products, good client service, and deliver their products on time so that you can satisfy the needs of your clients.

When you sell CBD products, it’s not just the vendor’s reputation in play, but yours as well. You are the one who curated these products, which means you vouch for every single one of them. If you don’t offer high-quality products to your customers, they are not going to stick with you for long no matter what.

Ask for samples before buying a whole batch

Before you go in ordering huge amounts of CBD, you have to test the products and ensure of their quality. Some vendors offer free samples, while others require you to pay for at least the shipping. Regardless of the case, you need to get some samples from multiple vendors and compare them in order to find the best CBD products

Instead of ordering samples from multiple types of products, order samples of hemp buds  so that you can compare the flowers and see which one is better. Smell it, analyze how the flower looks, and experiment with them before deciding where to buy your oils, edibles and hemp flower joints from.

If you also plan to manufacture some of your own CBD oil, it is that much more important to ensure you find high-quality CBD flowers. And, if possible, look for several strains to have some diversity in your store.

Try to secure a long-term agreement

Once you find a vendor you like, it’s time to discuss partnerships. If the vendor is reputable, has good reviews, knows the market, and provides good client service, then it may be a good idea to bring up a discussion about long-term contracts

This will save you tremendous time and will help your sales process, knowing you will always have a full inventory that comes from a trustworthy source.

A contract will also help cut down costs quite significantly, so once you find a vendor that meets the criteria of a strong business partner, don’t hesitate to ask for a signed deal.
