3 Tips For Prepping Your Home For A Holiday Party

If you’re to be hosting a holiday party in the coming weeks, there are a few things you should know about prepping your home for your guests in order for you to feel that your space is ready and for everyone to feel welcome and comfortable when they arrive.

To help you in reaching both of these goals with your get-together, here are three tips for prepping your home for a holiday party.

Make Space For Outerwear

If you live in an area where the weather gets frightful during the winter, you’re going to need to think about how you’ll handle your guests arriving with all of their winter outerwear, as you don’t want them to have to keep their coats and boots on or have them just piled up somewhere and getting in the way.

If you have a coat closet in your home, especially if it’s near the entryway of your home, spend some time clearing out this space so that there’s room for your guests to take off their things and hang them here. If this isn’t an option for you, taking your guests’ coats and shoes when they enter your home and placing them in a different room will work, too. And if it’s snowing or raining when everyone arrives, make sure you hang the coats so that they have a chance to dry before everyone puts them back on to leave.

Start Cleaning Early

Having a clean home as you prepare for your party will not only help to keep you organized and feel proud of your home, but it will also help your guests to feel comfortable in your space as well. But you don’t have to spend all day before your party sweating and cleaning. You can start cleaning early so that your home is set and you’re not stressing yourself out.

To get your home clean for your party, you can start cleaning as much as a week before your event, giving you time to just do some touchup cleaning on the day of the party. At the beginning of the week, you’ll want to do your deep cleaning and get professionals to clean drapes or carpeting

Make Sure Your Appliances Are Running Well

For most holiday parties, you’re going to be using your appliances a lot. This includes things like your refrigerator, freezer, oven, microwave, hot water heat, HVAC system and more. So, before the day of your party arrives, make sure that your appliances are running well and can handle the added stress of working overtime to help you make your party a big success.

If you need your home to be in top shape for your upcoming holiday party, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you get this all taken care of.
