I Used to Fall Asleep at my Desk. Now, I’m Ready to Take on the World

In a desperate attempt to keep up with her fast-paced lifestyle, Kate pushed her energy levels – and her mental wellbeing – to the absolute limit. But, somewhere deep in the Amazon jungle, a solution was waiting for her.

“I’m just so tired.”

For over a year, that was me. Like a broken record, I would tell my friends, family and colleagues – or anyone else who would listen – over and over again: I’m just so tired.

And who could blame me? As my friends regularly pointed out, I was doing 12 hour days at the office, all while trying to stay on top of an ambitious gym routine, a side hustle project with my business partner, and a packed weekend schedule of birthday celebrations, engagement parties, christenings, farewell drinks, welcome drinks, just-because drinks… you name it.

“I’m just so tired.”

Every time I heard myself say it – at work when I didn’t hit a target; at a party when I made excuses to leave early; at the dinner table with my boyfriend – I would get more wound up about it.

Everything I did – from work meetings to yoga classes and nights out – I felt drained, unfocused, and unmotivated. A few weeks back, I even nodded off at my desk.

I was doing more than ever before, yet I’d never felt so unproductive – I was doing everything and nothing at the same time.

My life, although seemingly active on the surface, had come to a complete halt. Out of mounting frustration, I turned to the internet for help.

“See if you can pick up some Adderall”
“I smash Caffeine pills like skittles. They keep me going”
“Try a coffee and energy drink for breakfast”

My heart sank. Caffeine – in the form of coffee, energy drinks and pills – had been my first port of call when my chronic tiredness began. While it gave me a quick surge of energy, the caffeine crashes were real: the explosive high soon disappeared, leaving me with nothing but shaky hands and a heavy sluggishness worse than before. And Adderall? Well, I didn’t want to be turning to amphetamines just yet.

“I’ve tried FuelEZ recently. It gives me a clean energy boost”

My curiosity peaked – or perhaps out of complete desperation – I did some more research online.

I found out that FuelEZ uses a three-phase performance blend – “energy”, “clarity” and “replenishment” – that works on not just giving you a clean energy boost, but on replenishing your body with vital nutrients and keeping your mind clear and focused, even in stressful situations.

Another detail that intrigued me: the ingredients, such as green coffee and guarana extract, are sourced directly from Brazil’s Amazon jungle, the birthplace of leading natural remedies. The final and crucial selling point? 20% Off for all first-time customers (with the discount code WOW). Well, in that case, I thought, what have I got to lose?

When the tiny red and black box arrived, I have to admit: I was a little dubious. Could a natural pill from the jungles of Brazil really get my life back on track? With nothing to lose, I knocked one back and waited for the surge of energy to hit.

Nothing.

“Great”, I thought, “well that was a load of BS.”

It wasn’t until later that day that it hit me: “I’m not tired.”

As I packed up my laptop, I realized that I’d gotten through my entire workday without the glaze in my eyes and that heavy grey cloud over my head.

I’d attended meetings, answered phone calls and written up reports without once thinking about how my eyes felt heavy or my brain foggy.

For the first time in over a year, my mind was clear: I was focused, motivated and present with the task at hand.

There wasn’t an instant hit of jarring energy. But it did feel clean, sustainable, and it lasted all afternoon.

I used to fall asleep at my desk. But now, I feel ready to take on the world.
